Google cardboard, cardboard cutout for cardboard superheroes

When Google acquired cardboard-building startup Box2r, it was the latest in a long line of companies that had begun to explore ways to use the cutting-edge technology to produce plastic objects.
But when the company began to experiment with making cardboard cut outs of cardboard, it quickly found that the design wasn’t up to snuff.
“We decided that we didn’t want to just build a cardboard cut out of cardboard,” says Box2rs founder and CEO Mark Pogue.
“The cutting-out was going to be cardboard.
That’s what we wanted.”
So, instead of building a cardboard-cutting-out machine, Box2rr went for something a little less straightforward.
“It’s a machine that’s basically a cardboard box,” Pogue explains.
“And we just built a machine.”
